Job Summary:
The Aggregate
Plant Maintenance Technician performs a combination of duties involving general
maintenance; repairing crushing and wash plant. Millwright type work. The
position is second shift (2:30 pm to 11:00 pm Monday -- Friday).
Responsibilities
Duties:
Completes daily
service requirements of the sand and gravel plants; inspects plants for
preventative maintenance issues.
Fabricates and
repairs conveyors and hoppers.
Troubleshoot and
resolve maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational
delays.
Repair crusher;
i.e., liner changes, oil systems and operations, monitor and changing of worn
parts.
Repair screen;
i.e., bearing replacement, drive system, changing screen cloth, structural
fabrication.
Repair conveyor
systems; i.e., drive systems, install new conveyor belts, setup and location.
Work on Crushing
plant setups; i.e., moving jaw crusher and feeders as required, set up and
disassemble portable crushing plant.
General
maintenance of water pumps and electrical requirements and wear prevention of
equipment.
Operate crane/and
or loader when necessary.

Requirements/Qualifications:
3+ years
maintenance experience with open pit sand and gravel operations
Must have a
working knowledge of aggregate production and associated equipment, and
understanding of operations and safety requirements for the equipment
Experience in
welding and fabrication
Understands the
type and quality of materials being produced
Ability to work
under pressure
Work with minimum
supervision
Familiar with MSHA
regulations
Majority of work
performed outside in all weather conditions at an Aggregates Mine. Second shift
Monday -- Friday 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm(may include some weekend, night time
and/or inclement weather)
Able to lift 50
pounds frequently, climb stairs/ladders up to 24 feet
Able to use a
regular square point shovel and 36" broom
Able to use
various electric and air powered hand, welding and cutting tools as
appropriate.
Preferred:
MSHA annual
refresher training preferred.
